“Ride” is a new, original Jack Broadbent song called from his upcoming album also named Ride (how convenient). The full album’s out on April 8th. This tune’s tailor-made for getting in the car and hitting the open road. (I got shotgun.)

Keb’ Mo’ – Good To Be…

Some folks just know how to make a record and Keb’ Mo’ is certainly one of them. While Good To Be… isn’t a straight Blues album – genre-bending I guess – it’s too well done to ignore. I don’t think there’s a sonic element out of place. And songwriting doesn’t get any better than this. (Loved it.)

Here’s a video of Dom Martin’s new single “12 Gauge,” from his forthcoming album “A Savage Life” – Coming the 8th of April. (Let the marketing begin.) Dom’s got those guitar chops we all want and a great gravelly voice that adds weight to any lyric.

One bar into this album I felt like I was greeting an old friend. Oh Tinsley Ellis, I missed you, and that Southern Rocky, Bluesy feel you do so well. Your guitar playing has never been better. I just want to strap on my headphones, close my eyes, and rock out.

Here’s a pleasant surprise. Someone I’d not heard before. (Shame on me.) This is a real solid album from Chicago born & bred Jim Kahr. Jim’s been around for a while and it shows because this album has lots of style and tasty bits. (I’m glad I was paying attention.)

What a great week for new albums! Peter Veteska & Blues Train check in with a party of an album. The band’s razor-sharp and Bluesy to the core. It must be a blast to be in this band. (My toes are sore from tapping so much.)

This is video from 1996 of the great Willie Dixon and Sunnyland Slim giving a masterclass in Blues playing. 15 choruses, no eye contact necessary. (Just ear-contact). Is it any wonder why musicians like these are so revered?
