Big deal alert!. Tedeschi Trucks Band is announcing a 4-album project entitled I Am The Moon. The albums start dropping in June. Here are their titles: Crescent, Ascension, The Fall, and Farewell. It’s a modern interpretation of a mythic Persian poem. Each album will be accompanied with a short film too. (Someone got busy during lockdown.)

Here’s some traditional Blues by an artist from the North Hill Country — of Italy — South Tyrol to be exact. But fear not, Hubert Dorigatti’s a former Italian International Blues Challenge winner, so we’re in good hands. His acoustic album’s a sweet tribute to the Piedmont Blues artist Blind Boy Fuller. The songs are intimate, uncomplicated, and well-worth a listen.

The first original song that George Thorogood ever wrote was “Bad to the Bone.” Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the track is still omnipresent on classic rock radio and has been used in countless movies and television shows. Not a bad place to begin your career as a songwriter.

This must be Piedmont Blues week. Because Taj Mahal & Ry Cooder have a new album of songs from Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. Now it’s been 50+ years since Taj & Ry have recorded together but they still got game. Just two life-long friends running down some songs they’ve loved all their lives. (This might be a collector’s item someday.)
