Wow. The Black Keys took the swamp and steam from their 2021 Delta Kream tribute album and applied it to their own tunes on Dropout Boogie – and I like it. There’s a certain mesmerizing vibe on these tunes that makes for some serious head-nodding. This is a really good album. (They’re at the top of their game here.)

Delbert McClinton’s always been a moving target. He slides across the Americana music-scape effortlessly. Bouncing between Blues and Country and covering everything in between. And he does it with a style that’s unmistakably his own. Think of this album as Delbert’s “songbook.” These are tunes he loves. And he sings them with a little wink and a smile so you’ll love ’em too.
