What’s this? Marcus King in a smokey garage somewhere? Guitar and slide in hand. Playing his latest single from his upcoming album Young Blood (due Aug. 26). Marcus bends genres as well as he bends notes on his Gibson. And his next album is gonna rock baby. (A little birdie told me.)

The first tune drops on Simon McBride’s new album (The Fighter) and you’re sucked right in. You can’t help it. The guitar riff, his voice, the song lyrics – they all melt into a Blues rocking moment you can’t NOT pay attention too. The good news is that the whole album sustains that energy and excitement. This is an album I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a video of Walter Trout doing some of his catchiest, Bluesiest, Southern Rockiest work. It’s the title track from his upcoming album Ride. Walter’s still at the top of his game and this tune sounds like a hit to me. It almost makes me want to take a train ride right now. (All Aboard!)

So, one of the best Blues Rock bands out there today, Robert Jon & The Wreck, has made a video about the joys of matrimonial bliss. As usual, the music rocks and hooks. I’m not sure how they do it, but just about everything they record sounds like a hit.

A video of a pretty young Junior Wells performing the title song from one of THE classic Blues albums, “Hoodoo Man Blues.” The album was accepted into the National Recording Registry in 2012 by the Library of Congress because they thought it was pretty classic too.
