Eric Gales’ latest album (‘Crown’) is fabulous! The material is so personal, the music and musicianship so good, you can’t turn away. I sure couldn’t. I’m guessing that’s what happened to the Grammy Nominating folks too. And when all is said and done, this is a very deserving honor. [ARTICLE]
Big Bill Broonzy was one of the earliest of the great Chicago Bluesmen. He was a prolific songwriter and adapter of traditional songs.
He began introducing electric instruments into his shows in the early 1940’s. But remained true to his acoustic beginnings throughout his career.
That career, though cut short by cancer in 1958, still managed to reach and influence many next-generation Blues musicians. [READ MORE].

There’s a lot of passion in all of Anthony Gomes’ work. He’s a fret-burner on guitar and his vocals push to the edge. So this video fits him perfectly. It’s not so much a song as a mission statement. Because if it’s Anthony you know he’s “gonna turn it up, turn it up loud.” [VIDEO]
Slowfoot – ‘Something Good’

It looks like it’s debut album time for Michigan band Slowfoot. They’ve put together 11 diverse, original tunes on this record. And it looks like they’re gonna be genre-benders. I’m hearing several different influences and they juggle them all pretty well. Nice beginning fellas! [PREVIEW]
