Ellis Mano Band – ‘Luck Of The Draw’
APPLE MUSIC
This new album from Ellis Mano Band is one of the most artistically polished I’ve heard in a long time. It’s got a sophisticated progressive Blues-Rock feel. And too many musical colors to count. So it won’t fit neatly into any single genre. But this is a record you can listen to on a rainy day, a sunny day, or any day. (Definitely worth a listen.) [PREVIEW]
Ally Venable (With Buddy Guy) – “Texas Louisiana”
YOUTUBE
Farmer’s daughter meets poor man’s son on this video. Ally Venable teamed up with Buddy Guy to put together a simple tune that rocks from start to finish. Tom Hambridge’s production is the glue between these two artists but it’s no surprise seeing Buddy being musically generous with another artist. (Me likey.) [VIDEO]
“Marc Broussard – Live From Nerdville”
YOUTUBE
This interview with Marc Broussard was recorded last Summer on the Keeping The Blues At Sea Mediterranean II cruise. That was right after Marc finished up his latest record, with Joe Bonamassa producing. That album (‘S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul’) is due in a week and I’m expecting something terrific. [VIDEO]
The Jorgensens – “Leave Your Light On”
YOUTUBE
Music and life partners Brianna and Kurt (The Jorgensens), are two albums into their career together. I’d say their sound is a Bluesy mix of Americana meets Singer/Songwriter. They sound great together and, in this video, it looks like they’re having a blast. [VIDEO]
Jeff Pitchell – ‘Playin’ With My Friends’
APPLE MUSIC
Some records just make you smile – like this one. Jeff Pitchell’s new album is sort of a “greatest hits” of sorts. It’s a lot of Jeff’s previous songs but this time recorded with some buds. Like Rick Derringer, Duane Betts, and Claudette King. Jeff’s a great musician and more folks should be listening to him. [PREVIEW]
Marcus King – “Blood On The Tracks”
YOUTUBE
Marcus King’s been putting together some informal, acoustic versions of tunes from his recent ‘Young Blood’ album. They each reveal what his fans already know – he’s got the goods. Great player and soulful singer. (Let’s give a shout out to his buddy Drew Smith too.) [VIDEO]
Marc Broussard – “That’s What Love Will Make You Do”
YOUTUBE
A double dose of Marc Broussard this week (with a little Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith for some added seasoning.) Marc’s one of the best singers on the scene and I’ll bet my last paycheck that his album release next week (‘S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul’) is gonna be great. [VIDEO]
