Marc Broussard – ‘SOS 4 Blues For Your Soul’
APPLE MUSIC
I’ve been waiting for this one. Marc Broussard is one of my faves and he’s got a voice that can make any lyric his own. And he nailed it here. This is an album of covers (all but one) made famous by other artists – from Howlin’ Wolf to Lou Rawls. A wide range, but Marc can handle it. These songs belong to him now. (Definitely worth a listen.) [PREVIEW]

He’s just 26 and he’s had his first taste of what it feels like to have a #1 Billboard album. Yep, the future’s lookin’ bright for Eddie 9V. And it’s well deserved because he’s making great music. Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown – “Sho Been Worse”
YOUTUBE
Let’s head on down to Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge and catch Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown tonight. The boys have some boogie they want to share. Tyler’s has a knack for stringing together songs that are just plain fun. And their upcoming EP (‘Dirty Work’) should be more of the same. [VIDEO]
John Primer – ‘Teardrops For Magic Slim’
APPLE MUSIC
This is a great tribute album. John Primer spent more than a decade as part of Magic Slim & The Teardrops and this album is a love letter to their music. It’s also a great example of Chicago Blues played before a live audience. It don’t get much better than that. [PREVIEW]
Joe Bonamassa – “Known Unknowns”
YOUTUBE
Never far from the news, Joe Bonamassa’s got another one of those gourmet snacks of a video out. A nibble from the live concert DVD and album he’s dropping in April, ‘Tales Of Time.’ He’s at the top of his musical game and I for one, can’t wait for the full meal. [VIDEO]
Trudy Lynn & Steve Krase – ‘Royal Oak Blues Café’
APPLE MUSIC
Trudy Lynn is a lady with one expressive voice! She’s been singing since the 60’s, so when you match her up with a band that knows their way around the Blues, then throw in Steve Krase’s excellent harmonica work, you’re gonna get a darn good album. Trudy & Steve deserve some attention. [PREVIEW]
