I thought I missed the marketing on this, but no. Christone “Kingfish” Ingram just dropped this album with zero warning. Surprise! It’s a live London show from this past June, and boy is it good. He’s only 24 but we can’t call him a prodigy anymore because his musical gifts have matured and he’s in full command. Nobody plays better than this. (Definitely worth a listen.) [PREVIEW]

Tom Hambridge – ‘Blue Ja Vu’

Whew! I can’t possibly overstate Tom Hambridge’s music bona fides. Drummer, writer, producer extraordinaire. When he attaches to your project, it takes off. John Popper & Jono Manson – ‘Bootlegger Days!!’

This collaboration from long-time friends John Popper & Jono Manson is pretty light on its feet. Throughout this album the fellas switch nimbly between Blues and Americana – and back again. Each original tune is anchored by Mr. Popper’s great vocals and his always tasty harmonica. And if you look closely, you might just catch the shadow of a bootlegger in the background. [PREVIEW]
