The Record Company made a real “U-turn” on this album…and I like it. Complexity gets thrown out the window. It’s back to a leaner sound. And that’s something this LA trio does real well. These new songs have a spark and the record has a distinct personality that’s gonna be hard for the critics to categorize but impossible to ignore. (Definitely worth a listen.) [PREVIEW]

As soon as that wah-wah pedal kicks in, Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s got you hooked. This is an ace of a video from Kenny, covering his second single from the upcoming ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1’ album. I love the imagery – and that line, “my hammer is a Stratocaster,” fits him to a tee. [VIDEO]
Dom Martin – ‘Buried In The Hail’

Irish guitarist Dom Martin has dropped an intense & powerful new album. His guitar work is flawless on this record (acoustic and electric). Plus there’s a ferocity to his vocals you can’t easily turn away from. It’s personal, it’s passionate, and it’s probably going to be a benchmark in his career. (Me likey.) [PREVIEW]
The Dig 3 – ‘Damn The Rent’

If you’re in the mood for some stripped down, Bluesy/Rootsy tunes, The Dig 3’s got you covered. This trio’s second album is a steady diet of relentless grooves garnished with some terrific harmonica. This is definitely from the “less-is-more” school of music production. But that just leaves more room for smiles and grins while you listen. [PREVIEW]

Wayne Nicholson was unknown to me before I happened upon this album. (Shame on me!) He’s no stranger to the folks in Canada though where he’s been Blues-Rockin’ audiences for literally decades. This man knows how to write and sing a Blues tune…and this album is a musical thrist-quencher. [PREVIEW]
