This Week…
Kenny Wayne Shepherd – ‘Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 1’
APPLE MUSIC
Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one Blues-Rocker at the top of his game. This new album is people’s exhibit #1. He’s written some great songs for this record. He’s also split lead vocals with longtime bandmate Noah Hunt which gives the album an interesting feel. And of course Kenny always makes room for those razor-sharp guitar skills of his. Great album. (Definitely worth a listen.) [PREVIEW]
Mark Joseph – “Deep Ellum Blues”
YOUTUBE
Welcome to Deep Ellum folks, that section of Dallas, Texas that drips with entertainment and art. Mark Joseph will be your tour guide. And he knows his way around. It sounds great and looks like a lot of fun. So please keep your hands and elbows inside the vehicle at all times…and do enjoy the ride. [VIDEO]
Mike Zito & Albert Castiglia – ‘Blood Brothers: Live In Canada’
APPLE MUSIC
This is hot – like 4-alarm fire hot! It’s the Blood Brothers (Mike Zito & Albert Castiglia) coming at you with a live set that’s just spilling over with heat and energy. It’s impossible to sit still and listen to this record. And man, everyone was “on” when they recorded this performance. The band, the crowd, and especially the Brothers. Their guitars must still be smoking. (Me likey.) [PREVIEW]
Joanne Shaw Taylor – “Wild Love”
YOUTUBE
Joanne Shaw Taylor’s been teasing us about some new music on the way, and now she’s released this new video. It sounds like she might be going a little more mainstream and a little less Bluesy but I always dig this lady’s work, so I’m all in. And she sure knows her way around a Telecaster. [VIDEO]
Vanessa Amorosi – ‘Memphis Love’
APPLE MUSIC
Australian artist Vanessa Amorosi is a new artist for me (shame on me). Personal lapses aside, this lady has some serious vocal horsepower! And she brings every bit of it to bear on her latest album. It’s a rich mix of Bluesy Soul and some glorious Gospel. Spotlessly produced with Dave Stewart, this record deserves to have the word spread…widely. [PREVIEW]
